2005 is over...what a year it's been. I'd like to take a second to reflect on a few of the things that have occured in good old 2005 - drumroll please...
I became a member of the Branch (a place that has changed my life)
I received prayer for hearling from the elders of the church, what a humbling experience.
I attended my first youth bible camp, and oddly enough received my own deliverance there (I believe the result of the previous prayer along with many others I may never know a/b). I went fishing (still have yet to catch a fish), and went camping (first run in with a possum)for the first time. I truly experienced the Holy Spirit, and received my first vision from the Lord. I received my first prophetic dreams. I moved into my very own apartment...living alone for the first time in my life and bringing and end to 7 years of living with my best friend (love you sweet and precious sister!). I watched my best friend get married. I watched her husband turn into a true man of God whom I carry the greatest respect and admiration for, his journey has been great and is nothing less than a testimony to Gods greatness. I turned 25, changed my college major (again) to religion and for the first time feel as though I'm studying something worth studying. I started dating someone who I truly view as a gift from God and for the first time I feel as though I'm entering a year that I can totally dedicate to the Lord, in a way that I never have before. I praise God for the obvious ways he has worked in my life over the course of the past year. It has been amazing and this little paragraph cannot even begin to explain the changes that have taken place w/in me or the freedom I have received this year. The blessings have been thick, the trials have been great, and when all is said and done it is all for His glory - praise the Father.
2006 - a year I pray will be full of revelation and manifestation. A year I expect to be rich in blessings and favor. A year of growth and of soaking, a year of intimacy with God and a year of devotion. I want to be like Peter, who was so overjoyed and filled with so much zeal for Christ that he jumped out of the boat after Him, (John 21:7 As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, "It is the Lord," he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water) eagerly wanting to be with Him, chasing after Him, wanting nothing more than to be near Him...
This past weekend I was shown Proverbs 31 - and this has become another prayer that I have in the coming year. It is a prayer that I hold for all women in my life...that we would know the true meaning of serving Christ and that we would know and understand all of that is entailed in being a woman of God...granted I'm not married nor do I plan on being married soon, it is still something that I desire to be, for God and for the man that the Lord has planned for me to marry.
Proverbs 31: 10
10 [c] A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 "Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
31 Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate
This is my prayer for 2006 and for my life Lord. Make me this woman, show me how to become her. I will face the fire of your refinery if it will ultimately mold and shape me into this perfect illustration of a woman living a life for You. A woman of noble character please create in me. A woman who lacks nothing of value, who brings good to her (future) husband and who can be relied on. Create a woman of diligence and of virtue, a woman who works steadily and with passion, a woman who is strong and yet who does not lose the tenderness that You have created in her. A woman who is selfless, giving, who rises before the sun and lays her head down after everyone else, but who finds satisfaction in knowing that she is fulfilling your work. A woman who is clothed in blessing and honor and who has no fear b/c she is wrapped in the knowledge of your glory, knowing that God almighty will honor her and her family for her dilegent service to His will and kingdom. A woman clothed in strength and dignity, and a woman who can laugh at the days to come because she rests in your promises of tomorrow. Make me a woman who is called blessed by her children and who is praised by her husband, but who is still so humble that she can't recognize the need for either. Create in me a woman who will not be ugly when the youth of today fades...create a woman who will become beautiful with time, who will grow in your glory and who will only radiate from within. I desire to be a woman who's ONLY source of beauty is You. Lord - I seek your revelation on the things in me that need to be changed - I earnestly seek for you to refine me in the ways in which I have requested, I desire to be this woman - I seek to be more like her, more like You Lord. I desire more of You, and I desire to be a humble and true servant for You. Make me beautiful Lord, in your eyes.
